Shipton Cottage is one of the renowned Bruern Cottages in the heart of the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire. Converted from a traditional long, low Cotswold stone barn, it combines rural character with practical, spacious living. Its entirely single-level layout makes it ideal for guests with reduced mobility, while still offering the warmth and charm expected of a classic country cottage.
Inside
The cottage opens into a generous open-plan drawing room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen, creating a sociable and comfortable environment for families or groups of friends. The space is light and well proportioned, designed for relaxed meals, conversation and evenings by the fire.
There are three bedrooms in total: one double and two twin rooms. Each bedroom benefits from its own en-suite bath or shower room, ensuring comfort and privacy for all guests. The absence of stairs throughout the property allows for easy access across all living and sleeping areas.
Outside
Shipton Cottage enjoys a large orchard garden with apple trees, lawn and flowering borders, along with a barbecue for outdoor dining. A children’s play corner with seesaw and swings is shared with neighbouring Bookers Cottage.
Guests have full access to Bruern’s shared estate facilities, including the spa, gym, indoor heated swimming pool and tennis court. The estate also offers a games room, children’s play area and Wendy house, on-site bikes, spa treatments, daily cleaning and newspapers on request, and the Parents’ Peace of Mind Kit with cots, highchairs, stair gates and toy boxes available free of charge.
