About

Inside

Set within its own private field at the top of the hill, Overbury Shepherd Hut offers a quiet, restful retreat shaped by soft textures and far-reaching views. The interior is calm and thoughtfully arranged: washed linens, warm tones and gentle industrial touches create a space that feels inviting from the moment you arrive. A comfortable kingsize bed sits beneath wide windows, while the walk-in shower room is finished with simple, elegant details and stocked with Wild England toiletries.

The central living area includes a compact kitchenette with cast-iron cookware and a Nespresso machine, alongside a dining nook for unhurried meals. A log burner anchors the room on cooler days, giving the hut a sense of warmth and ease that suits slow mornings and long evenings alike.

Outside

The hut opens directly onto its own private field, with open views stretching across the valley. Mornings are still and bright; evenings gather softly around the firepit as the hillside settles. The setting is simple yet spacious, offering a feeling of seclusion while remaining just moments from the village below.

Location

Situated beside The Royal Oak in Gretton, the hut benefits from the pub’s welcoming atmosphere as well as access to tennis and pickleball courts. Winchcombe, Broadway, Cleeve Hill and the Cotswold Way are all within easy reach, offering walks, viewpoints and relaxed day trips. Cheltenham, Daylesford and other Cotswold highlights lie comfortably within driving distance.

Access

Check-in from 3pm, check-out by 10am. Pets are welcome. Parking is available on site. External cameras cover the approach to the huts from the car park but do not capture the private outdoor space surrounding the hut.

Blending simple comfort with sweeping hillside views, Overbury Shepherd Hut offers a gentle, unhurried escape shaped by quiet moments and easy living.

Why We Love It

The calm of the hillside, the warmth of the log burner, the way light shifts across the valley — everything here encourages you to slow down. The hut is small but beautifully put together, making the stay feel effortless and relaxed.
