Congrove Barns is a secluded two-bedroom retreat set in a stunning south-facing valley just a few miles from the historic centre of Bath. Crafted from twin renovated barns, it blends romance, privacy and modern comfort β ideal for couples, families or friends seeking countryside calm close to the city.
Congrove Barns comprises a pair of beautifully converted barns designed as a private and romantic countryside escape, yet positioned within easy reach of Bathβs historic streets and cultural landmarks. South-facing and set into a hidden valley, the property offers both tranquillity and convenience.
The barns are thoughtfully divided by function. The living barn houses a generous open-plan sitting and dining room, centred around a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings. The fully equipped kitchen provides everything needed for relaxed self-catering, and the dining table comfortably seats six.
Adjoining this space is a games and television room with table football and a Conran sofa-bed, which can convert into a single or double (available on request, suitable for two children or one adult). A shower room is also located off this area.
The sleeping barn contains two en-suite bedrooms: a king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom and twin basins, and a zip-and-link king bedroom with en-suite shower room, offering flexibility for couples or friends travelling together.
The gardens are gated and fenced, providing privacy and security. An in-ground hot tub sits within the grounds, while croquet and badminton are available for outdoor play. The setting is south-facing and overlooks a private arboretum within the valley, creating a rare sense of seclusion.
The barns are designed for year-round use β equally inviting in summer sunshine or on winter evenings gathered by the fire.
Congrove Barns is located just a few miles from the historic centre of Bath, whose skyline can be seen shimmering in the distance at night. Bath Racecourse is even closer, and Bristol lies under ten miles away. The property is well positioned for exploring the Cotswolds, as well as the heritage sites of southern England including Avebury, Glastonbury and Stonehenge, with the Welsh borders also within reach.
