The Gables is a beautifully renovated, light-filled cottage in the heart of Churchill, combining traditional character with contemporary interiors, a garden annex and easy access to The Chequers pub just a short walk away.
Set in the sought-after Oxfordshire village of Churchill, The Gables is a recently renovated cottage that balances period features with a fresh, contemporary interior. Featured in Cotswold Life, it offers a relaxed yet well-considered base for families or small groups looking to stay within walking distance of a well-regarded village pub and green.
The house unfolds across three floors, with additional flexible space in a separate garden annex.
On the ground floor, a kitchen breakfast room with island seating links to a recently added dining room and informal sitting area. Large doors open directly onto the patio and garden, allowing the space to feel open and connected in warmer months. A separate L-shaped sitting room with wood-burning stove provides a more intimate setting for evenings.
Across the first and second floors are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, two of which are en-suite. A fourth shower room is located in the garden annex.
The annex also houses a games room with pool table and a separate study, creating additional space for work or play away from the main house.
The garden is mainly laid to lawn and arranged for outdoor dining. It offers a good sense of space for families and welcomes well-behaved dogs. One neighbouring property has right of access along a path for refuse collection on Mondays.
Gated off-road parking is available at the cottage.
The Gables sits in the centre of Churchill, one of Oxfordshire’s favoured Cotswold villages. The Chequers pub is just a few minutes’ walk away, and the village itself offers a green, a historic church and a strong sense of community. The surrounding countryside provides easy access to wider Cotswold villages, walking routes and market towns.
