About
Dovecote Cottage is one of the five Grey's Court Cottages in the classic English village of Southrop, Gloucestershire.
Dovecote Cottage is a three bedroom, two bathroom cottage featuring a wonderful I & JL Brown four poster bed in the first floor en-suite master bedroom.
Both bathrooms have a cast iron roll top bath and also a large power shower. The hot water system is state of the art and provides copious amounts of hot water for simultaneous bathing.
Dovecote Cottage’s sitting room has a snug area, double doors to the kitchen hallway and a single door to the first floor master four poster en-suite; and like all the cottages the sitting room features a wood burning stove.
Dovecote uses the Lewis & Wood Bewick Birds and Summer Blue Doves fabrics and wallpaper. “Bewick Birds” is based on the great 17th Century naturalist and wood engraver, Thomas Bewick, featuring charming designs of British birds; and “Doves” is a peaceful design featured in the Master four-poster bedroom echoes back to Dovecote Cottage’s namesake, the 17th Century dovecote located in the grounds of Grey’s Court and mentioned in Pesvener’s Historic Houses of England.
