You’ll be welcomed to a tucked-away vineyard near Great Rissington for a relaxed, informative tour of the vines and cellar. Hugo will guide a tasting of the vineyard’s current wines, with stories behind each bottle. Afterward, you’ll sit down to a seasonal lunch prepared by Hugo using local produce — think grilled vegetables, slow-roasted meats, and homemade desserts. Expect a communal table, informal hosting, and plenty of wine in a quiet, countryside setting.
Hugo is a chef and host whose roots run deep in rural hospitality. Inspired by Italy’s agriturismi—working farms where guests are welcomed like family—he brings that same spirit to the Cotswolds, combining a love of food, farming, and warm, relaxed hosting.
After training as a chef in London and learning traditional curing techniques in Tuscany, Hugo returned to the countryside to build something slower and more personal. His approach is rooted in seasonal, nose-to-tail cooking, with ingredients grown on site or sourced from nearby farms and producers.
Whether he’s leading a communal meal, firing up the outdoor oven, or sharing a quiet moment over a glass of wine, Hugo creates experiences that feel grounded, generous, and unmistakably Cotswolds.
