About

An extended former Victorian Hunting Lodge, Brookside has five bedrooms and three bathrooms in the main house – one of each being on the ground floor – and two bedrooms and one bathroom with bath shower in the self-contained cottage to one side of the drive and next to the former stables. Situated around a private courtyard, the house is more formally furnished and the cottage more English Country Cottage in feel.

The gardens are large and quiet with spots ideal for a sundowner as the rear of the house faces south west with gorgeous views across the rolling Cotswold hills. The entrance hall with log burning stove is a lovely place to take time out in its own right and leads down to a stunning, double-vaulted kitchen dining room complete with 5-oven Aga, wood burning stove and TV – a great space for entertaining and family meals. The kitchen has French doors that open onto the front patio with a fountain as its centre piece. There are two further receptions rooms; a formal drawing room with baby grand piano, and off that a library cum television room which makes for a perfect, relaxing family TV room with large sofa, open fire and rearrangeable casual (loafing) seating. The drawing room opens out onto a south west facing terrace that looks out over the large private gardens, and over 50 private acres for walks and picnics.

The heated swimming pool is in the rose garden behind the cottage and private, rear courtyard that has plentiful parking space and an EV charging point. The stables are spacious and are equipped with gym equipment for your stay.

The house sits on one of the two lanes into the village but as they offer only access to the village so is a quiet one. Brookside Lodge is in comfortable footpath walking distance of The Mount Inn in Stanway and Buckland Manor as well as the renowned Jill Carenza riding school. There are great walks – and rides – close to the house or village including The Cotswold Way and The Winchcombe Way and the famous market town of Broadway is only 2.6 miles away; from where the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway runs summer services to Cheltenham Racecourse.

Cotswolds

North Lodge Blenheim is ideally located for discovering the most stunning areas of the Cotswolds. It’s just a few minutes away from the charming town of Chipping Campden, known for its rich history and stunning architecture.

Once a bustling wool trading center, the town's beautifully preserved buildings reflect its prosperous past. Today, Chipping Campden offers a vibrant atmosphere with excellent restaurants, cozy pubs, and boutique shops. The surrounding countryside is dotted with picturesque villages, rolling hills, and lovely walking trails, making it an ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds.
An added bonus of staying near Chipping Campden is the easy access to nearby attractions such as the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare, and the magnificent Blenheim Palace. Alternatively, why not let us arrange a guided tour of the Cotswolds' hidden gems, from secluded gardens to lesser-known historical sites?

Also close to La Favorita are the enchanting villages of Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, and Broadway, as well as the stunning landscapes of the Cotswold Way and the tranquil waters of the Cotswold Water Park.
